Important Notice: Due to the tutors taking a sabbatical, there is currently no session of "Discovering Witchcraft" in progress and, due to continued development of this course, there will be no 2008 or 2009 session. If you would like to apply for "Discovering Witchcraft" in the future, please watch this space for further details regarding our newly restructured course offerings, applications information and course dates. These should be announced late 2009 at the earliest.

An introductory course covering thirteen moons, "Discovering Witchcraft" is designed to prepare the individual for coven membership, solitary practice, or simply to enhance their knowledge of the Craft. At the start of each moon (each a separate module), course attendees will receive a module information pack containing relevant handouts and information, an events diary, recommended supplemental reading list and a question paper.

The course will cover the following modules:

In addition to the class meetings, which will be comprised of a meditation, theoretical discussion and practical workshops, there will be "homework" and celebrations at esbats (full and dark moons) and sabbats, as well as other events relevant to the module being studied.

The tutors for this course are Bear and Heathwitch, who offer gentle encouragement, support and guidance. Those who successfully complete the course may be considered for formal coven membership.

In order to attend the course, we ask that you have a minimum six months' interest in Wicca or Witchcraft, evidence of background reading and/or self-study, and a willingness to commit to the course. You must also be able to get to the meetings.

You must also be able to attend our rituals -- the minimum requirement being one esbat (full moon or dark moon ritual) per module of the course, and at least four out of the eight sabbats (festivals) per year, one of which must be Samhain. Obviously, if you can attend all our rites then that is excellent -- but if not, you must be able to attend the minimum as stated above.

Please note that your attendance and active participation at rituals and classes over the year will contribute towards your application for coven membership at the end of the course.
